About Beachdogz
Laura Haywood of Juneau, Alaska, is the owner of Beachdogz. Laura has worked previously as both a graphic designer and technical writer; now she puts that experience to work creating Web sites.
The daughter of an entrepreneur with a passion for the printed word, Laura started her graphic design business shortly after settling in Seattle. After years of designing brochures, newsletters, books, and manuals, Laura completed a technical writing and editing program at the University of Washington. She then went to work at Microsoft, creating Help systems for Microsoft products for Macintosh computers.
In 2002, Laura moved to Juneau, Alaska, where she continued her work for Microsoft as a contract writer developing user assistance articles for the Microsoft Web site. By 2006, Laura was ready to start her own business again and founded Beachdogz.
